History
The HealthWay of San Diego County Trust was formed in 1995 by the United Way of San Diego County to provide a medical benefit program to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. With health care costs rapidly increasing, employers can pool their resources through the Trust in order to provide health and welfare benefits similar to those available to larger employers. HealthWay has more buying power with health care plans than most non-profit agencies can attain independently, providing San Diego employers and their employees with superior benefits.
